Join our team and help produce one of the longest-running cannabis reform events in the country.
The Vendor Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for all vendors from setup through breakdown. This is a fully on-site position responsible for check-in, booth placement, compliance, and vendor relations across all event days at Boston Common.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendors from Thursday, September 17 through Saturday, September 19
- Manage vendor check-in with a minimum two-person team, ensuring booths are correctly positioned and set up in the fields
- Communicate event guidelines, schedules, load-in/load-out instructions, and policies to all vendors
- Coordinate with Security to ensure vendor compliance with event guidelines
- Maintain accurate vendor lists day-of and verify booth numbers on the ground
- Act as mediator for vendor disputes and serve as liaison between vendors, Security, and event leadership
- Enforce policies related to sales, marketing, signage, and prohibited items at vendor tables
- Oversee vendor load-in, setup, and breakdown operations
- Process and place vendors who purchase booths day-of; maintain updated lists and maps for new or moved booths
- Prevent unauthorized vendor moves; coordinate with the Event Director for any booth relocations
- Track vendor attendance, no-shows, and on-site issues; provide post-event feedback and recommendations
Qualifications
- Experience in vendor coordination, event operations, or festival management required
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, live-event environment
- Comfortable enforcing policies professionally and diplomatically
- Ability to work long hours during event days
- Familiarity with Boston Freedom Rally event regulations required
Time Commitment
Pre-EventVendor planning & coordination — approx. 12 hours
Event DaysFull availability during load-in, event days & breakdown — approx. 56 hours on call
Compensation

The Grounds Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the event grounds before, during, and after the Boston Freedom Rally. At all times during the event, this person is the point of contact for all infrastructure set up on Boston Common. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in outdoor events, site operations, and facilities management.
Site Preparation & Maintenance
- Coordinate pre-event site walkthroughs and identify grounds-related needs
- Ensure walkways, common areas, and high-traffic zones remain clear, accessible, and safe
- Monitor ground conditions and address issues related to wear, weather, or crowd impact
- Maintain all rental equipment in good working order including golf carts, tools, generators, tents, and restrooms
Grounds Operations & Safety
- Identify and respond to safety concerns related to site conditions
- Coordinate with Trash and Security teams to resolve hazards or access issues
- Ensure compliance with City of Boston and Parks Department requirements
- Coordinate with Security to lock down all event infrastructure
On-Site Coordination
- Serve as liaison between grounds teams and all other event departments
- Support setup, maintenance, and breakdown of non-production site elements
- Coordinate sub-contractors (dumpsters, restrooms, tents) to set up infrastructure per the site plan
- Troubleshoot on-site logistical or site-related issues as they arise
- Ensure proper placement and retrieval of all banners, signage, and MassCann properties
- Act as shuttle and runner between main stage, 21+ stage, and all other stations
Post-Event Restoration
- Oversee post-event grounds restoration and final site walkthroughs
- Ensure all event-related infrastructure and materials are removed from the grounds, including Sunday, September 20 cleanup
- Report any site issues or damage to event leadership
Qualifications
- Experience in grounds management, facilities, site operations, and large-scale outdoor events required
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
- Physically able to walk and monitor the grounds for extended periods
- Ability to work long hours during setup, event days, and breakdown
- General knowledge of motors, electrical, construction, turf management, and radios
- Ability to provide your own tools and equipment necessary to complete these tasks

MassCann is seeking a Flagging Crew Lead to direct a team of four (4) personnel on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to flag and stake the entire event site on Boston Common. The crew will mark out all areas according to a detailed site map provided by MassCann, ensuring accurate layout for event setup the following day.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a crew of four to complete full event-site flagging per the MassCann site map
- Mark boundaries and placement for vendor booths, sound stages, backstage areas, MassCann tents, nonprofit booths, Education Village, glassblowing area, 21+ area, and all additional designated zones
- Ensure flagging is accurate, consistent, and clearly visible for setup crews
- Coordinate crew scheduling and workflow to complete flagging within approximately 10 hours
- Communicate with the Grounds Manager and Event Director regarding any site map questions or field adjustments
Qualifications
- Experience in event site layout, surveying, sports field marking, or similar flagging/staking work
- Ability to read and interpret detailed site maps and translate them to the field
- Strong organizational and leadership skills; able to direct a small crew efficiently
- Physically able to walk, bend, and stake across the Boston Common for a full day
- Insurance documentation may be required

Compensation

The Hospitality Manager is responsible for overseeing all hospitality-related needs for artists, production staff, volunteers, and key stakeholders across two separate stages during the Boston Freedom Rally. This role ensures a welcoming, organized, and well-supported environment that reflects BFR's mission, values, and professionalism. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and experienced in live events, festivals, or large-scale activations.
Artist & Talent Hospitality
- Coordinate artist hospitality needs, including riders, catering, and green room setup
- Serve as a primary point of contact for artists and their teams during the event
- Ensure hospitality areas are stocked, clean, and operating smoothly
Staff & Volunteer Hospitality
- Organize meals, snacks, and beverages for staff and volunteers
- Coordinate delivery, setup, and breakdown of catering areas
- Ensure dietary needs and accessibility considerations are met
Logistics, Budget & Site Management
- Work closely with the Stage Manager, Production Team, and Security to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee setup, maintenance, and breakdown of all hospitality areas
- Manage schedules related to catering, deliveries, and hospitality staff
- Source and purchase hospitality supplies within the approved budget; track expenses and provide receipts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all hospitality spaces
- Ensure compliance with event rules, city regulations, and safety standards
- Oversee end-of-day and post-event cleanup of hospitality areas
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, event production, festivals, or live events preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills

The Waste & Sustainability Manager is responsible for all waste operations during the Boston Freedom Rally, including planning, on-site management, team leadership, and post-event restoration. This role ensures the park is left spotless and that all waste, recycling, and composting operations are compliant with City of Boston and Parks Department requirements. The ideal candidate is resourceful, environmentally minded, and experienced in managing waste logistics for large outdoor events.
Waste Planning & Compliance
- Develop and implement a waste management plan aligned with City of Boston and Parks Department requirements
- Ensure all trash, recycling, and compost operations remain permit-compliant and clearly organized
- Recommend and source appropriate supplies (thicker bags, bins, gloves, dollies) in coordination with MassCann
Vendor & Service Coordination
- Coordinate with dumpster service providers for scheduling, hauling, and post-event removal
- Monitor vendor performance and address operational issues in real time
- Advise on dumpster placement for operational efficiency while minimizing visual impact
On-Site Waste Operations
- Oversee waste stations during setup, event days, and breakdown
- Manage overflow, minimize contamination, and address safety concerns promptly
- Ensure expanded staffing coverage during peak crowd periods
Team & Volunteer Management
- Recruit, schedule, and lead paid waste operations staff
- If approved by MassCann, implement a structured volunteer participation process including sign-ups, task guidance, and compliant waivers
- Provide clear direction and oversight to all team members throughout the event
Sustainability & Reporting
- Promote best practices for composting and waste reduction on-site
- Track waste volumes and diversion efforts where feasible
- Provide post-event reporting with observations and recommendations for future improvement
- Collaborate with MassCann on recycling priorities and sustainability partnerships
Qualifications
- Experience managing waste operations for large-scale outdoor events or festivals required
- Knowledge of waste, recycling, and composting best practices
- Strong organizational and team leadership skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and adapt quickly in a live-event environment
- Familiarity with City of Boston permitting and Parks Department regulations is a plus

The Sales & Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for driving revenue through vendor booth sales, sponsorship packages, and strategic partnerships for the Boston Freedom Rally. This role leads outreach to prospective sponsors, manages the sales pipeline, and ensures all sponsorship commitments are fulfilled on-site. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong sales instincts, a professional network in the cannabis or events space, and a passion for MassCann's mission.
Sales & Outreach
- Actively prospect and close sponsorship deals and booth sales leading up to BFR 2026
- Develop and present sponsorship packages and partnership proposals to potential sponsors
- Conduct outreach to cannabis brands, local businesses, media companies, and advocacy organizations
- Manage a sales pipeline and provide regular progress reports to MassCann leadership
- Follow up on inbound inquiries from the MassCann website, social media, and referral channels
Sponsorship Fulfillment
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all sponsors from agreement through post-event
- Coordinate with the Event Director, Vendor Coordinator, and Production teams to ensure all sponsor deliverables are met (signage, booth placement, stage mentions, logo placement, etc.)
- Ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon visibility and benefits during the event
- Collect and organize sponsor logos, assets, and materials in advance of print and production deadlines
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with sponsors and partners
- Provide post-event sponsor reports including visibility metrics, photos, and recommendations for future partnerships
- Represent MassCann professionally in all sponsor-facing communications
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, sponsorship, business development, or fundraising — event industry experience preferred
- Existing network in the cannabis, events, or Boston business community is a strong plus
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and hit targets
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple sponsor relationships simultaneously
- Comfortable working both remotely (pre-event outreach) and on-site during event days
- Passion for cannabis reform, advocacy, and community is a plus

Compensation
