All of the medical marijuana dispensaries set to open in Massachusetts this summer are planning to offer home delivery and have been encouraged to do so by state officials. Karen van Unen, executive director of the Department of Public Health medical marijuana program, was quoted on the subject in a recent presentation: “We really wanted to ensure that patients had choice.”
Current plans are for unmarked trucks and discreet packaging, which is perhaps a shame given all the possibilities for colorful signage and packaging and costumes for the deliverypeople.
On the other hand, the more use is made of home delivery, the less opponents will be able to paint dispensaries as shady places where suspicious characters hang around in the parking lot.
