Georgetown – On September 18, the Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition (Mass Cann) will host its 21st annual Freedom Rally, beginning at high noon on the Boston Common. This year’s theme, “Cannabis is Medicine” highlights Mass Cann’s ongoing efforts to obtain passage by a reluctant legislature of legislation that would allow patients with their doctor’s written recommendation, or such patient’s registered caregiver, to possess and grow marijuana for the patient’s medical use.
This year’s entertainers include: Grammy nominee, Tracy Bonham, ONYX, Planetoid, Prospect Hill, and Casey Desmond.
This year’s speakers include: Georgine DiMaria, Former Miss NJ-USA, Medicinal Marijuana Patient; R. Keith Stroup, Esq., founder the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) and Allen St. Pierre, NORML’s current Executive Director and a Bay State native, along with Rick Cusick, Associate Editor of High Times Magazine and the magazine’s grow editor and Massachusetts native Danny Danko. Mass Cann invited all four candidates for governor, but only Dr. Jill Stein of the Green-Rainbow Party is expected.
