Coming: Weed Lite

The ultimate skunk weed may no longer reign supreme if users have their say in a free retail market. As reported in Slate magazine, growers in Seattle are hearing from more and more customers that they would like some high-quality but low-potency marijuana to chill out at the end of the day without major zombification.

Up to now, pot prohibition has had the same effect as alcohol prohibition before it: it’s more profitable to move the stronger stuff when all moving and storage is being done with the ever-present threat of arrest, so bootleggers tended to favor whisky and grain alcohol. Conversely, the repeal of alcohol prohibition has made the world safe for Asti Spumante.

So, it may be true that today’s dope is stronger than your father’s dope, but kids born today may grow up smoking something more like their grandfathers’ dope.
